With Christmas just around the corner, our Client Services Director, Thomas, chooses his top gift picks for her.
We’re feeling very festive at Team Time-To-Find, and this week I’ve immersed myself in the world of Christmas gift guides! I’ve created this festive spread of female timepieces to suit all personalities.
Swiss watches make wonderful talking points and, most importantly, reflect the wearer’s individual sense of style – from the daring adventurer to the unapologetic diamond lover. The below collection therefore includes everything from the dainty to the dazzling, and also include brands that have added some feminine flair to their classic male pieces.
So, if you’re looking for the perfect present for that someone special – whether it’s your wife, mum, daughter or best friend – grab a mince pie and delve into my favourite gifts for females. And don’t forget that you can get £50 off your first order!
For the lady who loves adventure
Dive watches are a practical yet stylish type of wristwear, with several brands creating timekeepers that you can keep on in the pool or ocean. This OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra is my favourite for Christmas 2019. With a white mother-of-pearl dial, sleek stainless-steel case and matching bracelet, the watch is less bulky than some dive-watch incarnations, but it still complements an adventurous persona. This elegant OMEGA timekeeper is therefore the perfect gift for women who like to get out and explore the great outdoors – it looks the part both on land and underwater!
For the lady who loves to shine
Of course, I couldn’t talk about ladies’ watches without mentioning Cartier. The definition of ‘pure elegance’, this curvaceous Ballon Bleu Rose Gold and Diamond timepiece features an eye-catching convex balloon shape, sleek rose gold case and bracelet, a silvered lacquered dial and a distinctive sapphire cabochon crown winding mechanism. Look closer at the dial to discover 11 brilliant-cut diamonds and blued-steel sword-shaped hands providing an interesting contrast.
For the lady who loves a splash of colour
Jack Heuer created the Carrera watch in 1963 in tribute to the famous Carrera Panamericana auto race, widely considered the most dangerous in the world. This iconic design has been given an elegantly feminine flair with the TAG Heuer Carrera. With its sleek stainless-steel case, sumptuous purple dial, on a purple satin strap, it would undoubtedly make a memorable gift this Christmas.
For the lady who loves to change it up
Why restrict yourself to just one style? Give the gift of versatility this Christmas, with this gorgeous Shine Ladies Shine Two-Tone Interchangeable watch from Raymond Weil. Choose from a sophisticated black satin strap to a two-tone linked bracelet to alter the persona of the timekeeper for different occasions. The dial itself is a talking point on its own merit, with its delicate mother-of-pearl finish and yellow-gold-plated Roman numerals and hands – not to mention eight diamonds in-between the quarter-hour markers!
For the lady who loves to hit the road
Earlier this year, I talked about the 2019 trend for automotive-inspired watches, with notable releases from TAG Heuer, Breitling and even car brands themselves. If you’re buying for a female F1 enthusiast, then check out this stunning TAG Heuer Formula 1 Diamond Bezel watch, which contrasts blue and silver to make it stand out from the wrist. Featuring a 32mm stainless steel case and bracelet, blue dial and diamond-set bezel, this timepiece has been precision-crafted to celebrate another industry where every millisecond counts!
For the lady who loves diamonds
They are a girl’s best friend, after all! There were lots of watches to choose from in this category, but my favourite has to be this Chopard Happy Sport watch. The first watch to combine diamonds with a stainless-steel case, this eminently desirable design is ‘bling’ in its truest sense! The so-called ‘Happy Diamonds’ floating within the dial swirl and spin as you move around, making this wristwear utterly irresistible!
For the lady who loves retro nostalgia
This stunning Ladies Rado Integral Ceramic Bracelet watch is reminiscent of the Art Deco style of the roaring Twenties. Its slim, angular style makes it ideal for a female wrist, while its understated elegance makes it a perfect evening watch. Featuring a ceramic and gold-plate case and bracelet, and a black dial, set beneath sapphire crystal glass for protection, with diamond dot hour markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock.
For the lady who loves to make a statement
Another trend that has come to the fore for females this year is skeletonised watches – innovative designs that show off the art of horology in intricate detail. I love this Audemars Piguet Millenary watch, which draws the eye of the beholder into the heart of the mechanism, thanks to the reversed calibre 4101. The watch also features an 18-carat rose gold oval case, off-centre mother-of-pearl dial and a crown set with a pink cabochon sapphire, making this Audemars Piguet a showstopper in any environment!
For the lady who loves animals
There are a surprising amount of luxury Swiss watches that either feature, or are inspired by, animals. Some of these timepieces use the image of animals as the dial or caseback focal point; however, this striking design from Bulgari uses the shape of the creature to form the basis of the timepiece. Looking like a snake coiled around your arm, the Serpenti Tubogas is undeniably a glamourous piece of wristwear.
